We moved to Mexico City in 2005 and lived there for seven years. Upon arrival, we bought a beachfront property in South Akumal and fell in love with the area and the wonderful people, hence, the name of our website. Over time, we bought other properties and have gained a lot of experience and understanding of the area, the culture, property values, Mexican laws and rental opportunities.
With a lot of hard work, attention to detail and listening to our guests, Akumal Breakers (our villa) grew to be the #1 rated 4+ bedroom villa on Trip Advisor out of 300+ units in the area. This visibility resulted in many inquiries from people wanting to purchase our villa (or one similar) directly from us without going through a realtor. We’ve enjoyed helping connect several buyers and sellers by presenting villas and condos on our popular website iLoveAkumal.com. We don’t call ourselves real estate agents but we do showcase a few select properties as an advertising service to friends and acquaintances.
